About the Entrepreneur

Gilbert Simms started his business Enviro-Safe Fuels fairly late in life at the age of 55. ln fact, his wife left her job the same day that Gil started his operation. They didn't know if they would make it or not, but they were going to try as hard as they possibly could to make it work.

When he was 55 and getting ready to leave the petroleum industry, he knew he wasn't ready for retirement. He thought of himself as a young man who needed something to do. The only thing that he was sure about was that he didn't want to work for someone else. He had a partner when he first started the business, and it was his partner who named the business Enviro-Safe Fuels. They knew the petroleum industry well and had worked in it for years installing fuel equipment and cleaning up fuel spills.

He passed away a few years ago and his son now runs the business with his wife.
